Experienced North Carolina Alimony Attorneys
Going through a divorce brings about many changes, particularly for those who have been financially dependent upon their spouse. In cases of divorce where one spouse has been substantially reliant upon the other during a majority of the marriage for their ordinary daily support, they may be able to file a claim for alimony.
At the Tom Bush Law Group, we assist divorcing spouses in securing fair alimony payments.
If your spouse earns a higher income than you do, you may be entitled to a monthly stipend over and above your equitable distribution. Our experienced attorneys also represent the supporting spouse, as alimony claims may need to be vigorously defended due to long term consequences.

Petitioning for Spousal Support
Once your divorce proceedings are underway, you may seek interim alimony, also known as spousal support or maintenance, during the course of litigation. If a temporary order is in place, it is not automatically continued.
Unless you and your former spouse agree on the terms of your divorce, the court will determine an award of alimony, if any, based on the argument and testimony submitted by both parties.
